Join us for the highly anticipated Seminar Series on Special Topics in Earthquake Engineering, "Soil Structure Interaction Practical Design Aspects and Case Studies" taking place on May 14, 2026 at UBC Robson Square.
This symposium will bring together leading experts, engineers, and researchers to explore the critical role of soil–structure interaction (SSI), Vs30 evaluation, and basin effects in the seismic design of transportation infrastructure and buildings. The event will foster discussion on analytical methods, best practices, and innovative design strategies, while highlighting gaps and challenges in current approaches. Through a combination of technical presentations and case studies, the symposium aims to enhance understanding of site response, improve the integration of SSI into engineering workflows, and support the development of more resilient and safe design practices.
